A British Reserve Army Officer, Captain Sherri Took RE(V), was the Individual Winner of the 38th Saumur Challenge Equitation Competition held over the weekend 3 - 5 Oct 2008 at Liege in Belgium.

Riders are required to cover both cross country and show jumping courses and conditions for the competition were demanding following a number of days of continuous rain falling on the course. Riders compete using horses supplied by the host nation, this year Belgium.

Last year UK won first place in the team competition when the event was held at Melton Mowbray. This year the overall team prize was won by the hosts, Belgium.

UK participation in the Saumur Challenge is sponsored and largely financed by the United Kingdom Reserve Forces Association. For more information contact the UKRFA Secretariat at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
